You've come to the right place! We have performed literally tens of thousands of eye surgeries in Yolo County, including sight-saving procedures like cataract and glaucoma surgery, as well as Laser Vision Correction.
Our exciting world of refractive surgery began in 1990 with Radial keratotomy, then Dr. Miller performed one of the first Laser Vision Correction procedures in 1995, and opened our own "LASIK in DAVIS!" facility in 1999. We've offered local care to our LASIK patients ever since. Of course, surgical techniques are always improving, and Dr. Miller was one of the first to introduce “Custom LASIK” in 2004, and adopt the "100% Blade-Free" Intra-Lase LASIK technique in 2007. We're still 100% Blade-Free!
In the world of cataract and lens-implant surgery, we introduced the Verisyse implant for extremely high nearsighted patients in 2005. To reduce the need for glasses after cataract surgery, we're involved with many different implant technologies. These include the crystalens accommodating implant, the ReSTOR multifocal, Tecnis multifocal, and Acrysof Toric lenses.
As a full Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at the UC Davis Eye Center for 25 years, Dr. Miller teaches patient care to those doctors who have chosen a career in eye surgery. He has twice been presented with the "Best Clinical Teacher" award, which is our highest compliment.
Dr. Miller continues to "Pay it Forward", by bringing eyesight to the poor and disadvantaged populations of underserved around the globe, as well as locally. He directs an eye surgery clinic in Sinaloa, Mexico*, and travels farther for week-long missions in the Pacific Rim., recently bringing sight to a blind population in Fiji! (2016). We are also the ophthalmology provider for the MediCal (Partnership) population here in Davis.
Please call us and find out why other doctors and patients here send their family to Advanced Valley Eye Associates. We look forward to hearing from you!
